Perpendicular Lines

Two lines are said to be perpendicular when they intersect at 90 degree (right angle). Two lines AB and CD are intersecting at a common point O forming a 90-degree angle, hence we say both lines are perpendicular to each other.

Let us see an example

Referring to the above image, we can see the construction of a perpendicular scale used as a drawing tool. There are many other day to day examples for this concept.

Line: DB

Rays: OD, OB, OC, OE
