Parallelogram in Same base & parallel

Theorem 1. Parallelograms on the same base (or equal bases) and between the same parallels are equal in area.

If  ABCD & ABEF  have common base AB & are between same parallels AB || FC, then ar(ABCD) = ar(ABEF)

Converse Theorem 2: Parallelograms on the same base (or equal bases) and having equal areas lie between the same parallels.

In figure above: If ar(ABCD) = ar(ABEF)   & ABCD & ABEF  have common base AB, then they will be between same parallels AB || FC.
